Hi,
Since we are still deciding about the venue, we also need to look for a dress code.
Keeping the school as the venue in mind and to have a nostalgic atmosphere, we can have saree as the dress code.. However this can be changed. This is just a suggestion.
People please post your comments about the dress code you guys would prefer..
If we do not receive a lot of votes, we may have it with the according to suggestions given by the few people active on the blog..
please feel free to give your precious suggestions.
Also with regards to the decorations, we wish to know if any one can help around with this. As a grafiti we can all sign a poster however we need someone to make this poster...
or if not poster any other creative ideas are welcome..
please start posting
Regards,
Faye, Pooja & Shalini

Volunteer Areas
Hey guys,
As you know we're planning a reunion, and a lot of volunteers are required for various activities. I'll be listing the activities/department below alongwith the responsibilities. Please let us know if you can help out and we'll add your name to the list. You can volunteer to do a part of one activity or be a part of multiple activities. We need as many people as we can get:
(1) HEADCOUNT: This will involve getting in touch with as many of our batchmates as possible, getting their responses (yes, no, maybe). Will also involve telling those you have got in touch with to tell other people.
All the responses will have to be reported to Pooja Yagnik and the names will be updated in the respective list on the blog every weekend. The time-frame for getting the responses is by 30th Apr. That is a whole month, so it will give us time to plan the location and other stuff.
(2) LOCATION(A): This will involve getting quotations from places where we could possibly hold the reunion. Right now, we're looking at a minimum of about 100 people but hopefully there will be more. Some of the locations suggested are our school, pope paul hall, St. Francis, a restaurant (not specified), gorai location (not specified). Location volunteers will have to scout locations (between Dahisar and Kandivali) to hold the reunion while keeping in mind that the cover charge is not unreasonable.
LOCATION (B) Depending on where we have it, we might need catering, lights, chairs, etc. Need volunteers who will approach caterers and the like for the same.
(3) FINANCE: The volunteers will be responsible for getting quotes of the rate per head and what that rate covers. Bargaining will be involved.
At a later stage, finance volunteers will be responsible for collecting the money and paying the venue/caterer. Try to get volunteers from each area so that payment of the cover charge becomes easy for everyone. Eg: Shalini in IC colony, xyz in LIC colony, abc in Shanti Ashram.
(4) CREATIVE: The responsibility here will really depend on where we are having it. Please read the previous post for possible creative ideas, more ideas are welcome. It could possibly also involve venue decoration, planning of some party games, dress code etc. All /creative/artistic/tech savvy people please volunteer
(5) FOLLOW-UP: This wil involve waiting back after the event to make sure that all bills are settled, no damage is done to the property and if it is in school, making sure that the waitstaff clears out the premises properly.
I will be posting a list of people who have already volunteered. Please leave a comment on that post (make sure you leave your FULL name and the dept you want to be in) on that post. Your name will be updated in the list.
Regards,
Faye

Venue
Hey people,
So far the only tentative venue we think is appropriate is our "School" However, the problem is the cost ... Cos the present principal will charge us a bomb.. However if she can give us one classroom or just the hall or probably the garage ... still the better .. since its a reunion and nostalgic memories will be great...
and like faye mentioned on facebook regarding the creative aspect of the thing.....
(1) why dont we all ask people for snaps of school trips/farewell/.canteen etc and make some sort of AV or collage or sth....would be wonderful.
(2) or we could all wear sarees and come like our farewell
(3) or we could have some dance or something which people have done in school (i still remember pooja in some sort of scottish dance lol)
If anyone has any suggestion about the venue please let feel free to post comments..
Also last week of May the weekend is the most suitable.. probably a Saturday night30th May 2009 or Sunday 31st May 2009..
We can all meet for dinner... since its summers afternoons will be a hassle
Feel free to post comments guys ... We need a minimum of 125 people for the reunion to work out

"Happy times may come and go, but the memories will last forever"
"Best friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget. I always knew that I would look back on the times I cried and laugh, but I never knew that I'd look back on the times I laughed and cry." Anon.
I guess whoever wrote that expressed what we're feeling more eloquently that I ever could!
In an attempt to reconnect with old and dear friends from Mary Immaculate School (Borivali) and hopefully to make peace with people who weren't so dear :P, we're tinkering with the idea of having a reunion this summer (May 2009).
Everyone who graduated with us in the 2001-2002 batch is welcome. Hope everyone can make it!!! Keep checking in with the blog for any new developments and your comments and help are valued.
The blog will be handled by me (Faye Salins), Shalini D'Souza and Pooja Yagnik.
